In this episode of The Paulymath Show I review the Kodak Zi8 HD camera. Kodak Zi8: www.paulymath.com Blog: www.paulymath.com Summary: The Kodak Zi8 is an inexpensive HD pocket camera that packs a lot of punch. Although there are many HD cameras entering the market now from the Flip video cameras to HD cell phone cams, the Kodak Zi8 stands above the rest with a few key features: (1) It has an external Microphone Input jack which allows you to get crystal clear sound by using an external microphone with your videos. The Flip video cameras and cell phones don't usually have that ability. (2) The Zi8 records in 1080p, 720p/60, 720/30 and 480p. The 720p/60 mode allows you to record your videos at 60 frames per second which is a nice feature especially if you're going to be doing any green screen videos or videos that require a high frame right such as sports videos etc. (3) At around the 0-0 price range the Kodak is one of the highest quality low priced cameras on the market. It does not come with built in memory though so you will need to pick up a memory card for it. (4) The Kodak Zi8 has built in compression so when it outputs the video to your computer, the video is already compressed and encoded in MOV format at around 3500kbps. This is a high enough bitrate for Internet videos, and doesn't eat up hard drive space like cameras that output in RAW format.
