In this episode of The Paulymath Show I review the Kodak Zi8 HD camera. Kodak Zi8: www.paulymath.com Blog: www.paulymath.com Summary: The Kodak Zi8 is an inexpensive HD pocket camera that packs a lot of punch. Although there are many HD cameras entering the market now from the Flip video cameras to HD cell phone cams, the Kodak Zi8 stands above the rest with a few key features: (1) It has an external Microphone Input jack which allows you to get crystal clear sound by using an external microphone with your videos. The Flip video cameras and cell phones don't usually have that ability. (2) The Zi8 records in 1080p, 720p/60, 720/30 and 480p. The 720p/60 mode allows you to record your videos at 60 frames per second which is a nice feature especially if you're going to be doing any green screen videos or videos that require a high frame right such as sports videos etc. (3) At around the 0-0 price range the Kodak is one of the highest quality low priced cameras on the market. It does not come with built in memory though so you will need to pick up a memory card for it. (4) The Kodak Zi8 has built in compression so when it outputs the video to your computer, the video is already compressed and encoded in MOV format at around 3500kbps. This is a high enough bitrate for Internet videos, and doesn't eat up hard drive space like cameras that output in RAW format. Panasonic HX-WA10 Video Test (Read Description) Video Clips. Duration : 4.42 Mins.
This is a Video Test for the new Panasonic HX-WA10. The Video is shot in 720p 60 pics/sec. The guy in the Video is my brother and he talks about our house and the garden. The Camera itself can shoot in 1080/30 and /60, in 720/30 and 60 as well as in Iframe and 480/30p. I didn't test the camera under water due to the destructive critic on Amazon.de and the excessive warnings in the instruction manual. However, my HX WA 10 survived a rainstorm, and I guess, if sufficiently cleaned the Panasonic HX WA 10 might survive a visit to the pool too. If you want a good, moderately priced camcorder which definitely persists in water I would recommend the Kodak Playsport instead. Overall the Camera is a bit shaky and with an original price of 300€, or 300$ overpriced. Also the HX WA 10 has a weakness in dark environments. Still, for a video shot inside the house it is well suited. Outside it makes good videos and has an terrific sound quality. Also, the camera looks pretty good and is very well crafted. The Words "Video" and "Test" are German words as well, so don't troll on the the Video for being in German. Just look at the picture and see how the camera behaves in different light environments outside on an beautiful day in Hesse. Please feel free to comment
